I wish this blog was about my unconditional love for the cinematic masterpiece MOMMIE DEAREST- but alas its not.  It is about something much much more serious.

Instead this blog is about one of the worst things that I've ever seen happen to this planet: The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. 

The tragedy that started over a month ago, continues to grow at an alarming rate, and yet somehow, no one seems to know what to do.  The problem seems to be on auto pilot and we're just all along for the ride.  Are we not going to wake-up until the plane crashes and we find ourselves on an island with smoke monsters and polar bears?   

I do not understand why BP is running the show and not locked in a jail cell somewhere.  BP oil skipped several tests, which lead to the spill and apparently had NO plan of action, incase of accident.  FAIL! FAIL! FAIL!  

First it was hundreds of thousands of oil spilling into the ocean- now it turns out, those numbers were incredibly wrong.  We're talking MILLIONS of gallons a day.   And its finally reaching the gulf coast- no one has any idea how to clean it up- even if we could stop the spill a mile under water. The black crude that we are so painfully addicted to in this country is drifting up the gulf stream, and we're only 1 month into this mess. Estimates that this could go on for another 2 months are being floated around.  We are going to destroy this planet.

The only thing more appalling is Obama's lack of leadership on the issue.  As a strong democratic supporter and staunch Obama fan, he is starting to rub me the wrong way!  Where is the fiercely liberal smart man that we all voted into office?  Why did he run to the center after he got elected into office by being liberal?  Obama needs to stop being such a pussy and kick some ass.  Get in there and take command.  

This is quickly becoming Obama's Katrina.  Ongoing war?  Failure to get your shit together when there is a disaster in the gulf coast?  Getting into bed with big business?  Get your act together Barry.  You're beginning to look like this guy:
